Whitestar Station – Farm Holiday Park is a 1,260 hectare working sheep and cattle farm that has been in the Evans family since 1864. It is now run by Karl and Tellic.

We are a family oriented farm and expect reasonable, courteous behaviour from all our guests.

Please respect other guests and allow everyone to enjoy their holiday. So that everyone has an enjoyable stay, please read and co-operate with our park policies.

Please do not be offended if asked to abide by the rules.

 

Our water is from the stream and is untreated. It is recommended that water should be boiled before drinking if you are not use to country water.

We have no EFTPOS or credit card facilities here.

There is a coin operated laundry facilities which takes $1 and $2 coins by the Office.

Please dispose of Garbage and Recycling in the relevant bins allocated at your house/site or at the front entrance way by the office. Please keep our farm rubbish free.

There is a big Pak 'n Save in Thames and a small 4 Square in Coromandel Town. The local Colville General Store is open Mon-Sat from 8.30am till 5pm and Sundays till 4pm.

 

FAQ

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, dogs are allowed at Whitestar Station. Charges apply and please read our dog policy.

Is there horse treks here?

We no longer offer horse treks here. Unfortunately, Belinda, the operator, has decided not to continue with the service.

Do I have to bring my own drinking water?
Our water is sourced from the stream high up in the hills and is untreated. It is recommended that water should be boiled for drinking if you are not use to country water.

Do you have WiFi?
Yes free WiFi is available even at the Bush Cabins!

Is there a washing machine available?
Palm Tree Cottage, Number 10 and the Farm Stay cottage all have washing machines in the house's. If you're staying at the Bush Cabins you will need to come down to the main entrance and use a coin operated washing machine and dryer that is available by the office and that takes $1 and $2 coins.

Can I bring my motorbike?
Yes. Charges apply $30 per bike per day. Sorry no motorbikes during calving and lambing (1st July till end October each year) and over the peak summer period.

Are there pots, pans and utensils in the accommodation?
Yes. Theses are provided unless your camping then you will have to bring your own.

Access to the Bush Cabins?

Is via a 3km farm gravel track and through 1 creek crossing. The cabins are located 700 meters off the main track. You are able to drive it yourself, however for some vehicles it is not appropriate (especially lowered vehicles) It is recommended that you arrive during the daylight.

Guest Responsibilities

We expect common sense and consideration to be shown at all times, to all guests..

Drive slowly and carefully at all times please! Maximum speed is 15 km when driving though the farm. Unless signs say otherwise.

Watch for stock, other traffic travelling through the farm, pedestrians especially children on pushbikes and motorbikes.

Try to keep the dust down and not dust out us and other guests out when driving through the farm.

Visitors should take care of themselves by not:

  • interfering with plant or equipment, including electrical installations or fences
  • entering unauthorised areas or farm buildings
  • disturbing or unnecessarily approaching farm animals or work activities
  • letting children wander unsupervised
  • ignoring instructions or warnings
  • leaving gates open or damaging fences.

All activities are at own risk although we take great care to ensure the safety of visitors, we will not accept liability for any injuries that occur on our farm. This is a multiple hazard area.

Guests and their visitors are fully responsible for the safety and security of their children and themselves at all times, as well as any disturbance caused to other residents staying on the property.

A reasonable level of quietness and conduct is expected at all times. Quite time means soft voices and no loud music between 10.30pm and 7.30am and upon arrival and departure please.

Alcohol is only to be consumed on your site or in your unit. Excessive drinking parties are forbidden.

The management reserves the right to refuse admission to any person and to remove from the park any person who in their opinion does not conduct themselves in a decent and reasonable manner. No refund will be made in such circumstances.

If you are experiencing a problem, please advise management immediately. Tomorrow is too late.

Accommodation

Please notify office of any spills, breakages or faulty equipment so we can rectify it. Management reserves the right to recover all costs.

NO SMOKING or VAPING in any of our accommodation and buildings. Cleaning charges ($100) for smoky or excessively dirty rooms will apply.

Management reserves the right to recover cost where extra cleaning is required. We would appreciate your respect of the property by doing the dishes, putting them away and leaving the accommodation/site in a clean and tidy condition.

No fires/fireworks, or devices with a naked flame. Only gas cookers, fridge/freezers and lanterns may be used.

No chainsaws, compressors, generators and amplifiers.

Management reserves the right to terminate a booking at any time without refund, if behaviour is deemed unacceptable by the Management.

Dog Policy

No matter what shape or size your dog takes, we know they are a big part of the family. At Whitestar Station we recognise that for many travellers a holiday is not complete without their dog, which is why welcome responsible pet owners with their dogs that are well socialised and properly cared for.

It is the dog owner's responsibility to ensure the safety and supervision of their dog and of others around their dog.

All dogs must be vaccinated.

All dogs must be legally registered.

Dogs must be quiet and not disturb others. No excessive barking or nuisance behaviour – please respect other guests who do not want to be disturbed.

No nuisance behaviour towards existing park animals (chickens, ducks, sheep, cows and birds) please.

Dogs must be tied up and/or on a leash at all times. Wandering dogs and their owners will be asked to leave the farm.

Owners must clean up after their dogs immediately.

Dogs are not to be left unattended for any amount of time.

If your dog acts aggressively you will be asked to leave.

Cancellations

If you have to cancel you're booking or defer your booking, this must be done via email to us.
Cancellation terms will be effective the day it is received by us.
The following cancellation policies apply to booking directly with us.
A cancellation fee of $25.00 applies per Cottage/Cabin/site cancelled to all cancelled bookings.

High/ Peak Season
From 20th December to the end of February & Long Weekends (Easter, Labour,
King's Birthday, Anzac Day, Matariki).

Low / Mid Season
From 1st March to 19th December (except the Long weekends)

Refund of deposit will be made up to 14 days prior to the arrival date in the Low/ Mid Season. Less a $25 cancellation fee.

If less than 14 days prior to arrival, deposits will not be refunded unless the Cottages/Cabins/sites you have booked can be refilled for the full time of booking less a $25 cancellation fee.

Deposits and payments are fully refundable 30 days prior to guest's arrival date in the High/Peak Season. Less a $25 cancellation fee.

Bookings are transferable credit will be held on your account and to be used with in 12 months and there are no refunds for inclement weather.
